Lottery: The Innocent Addiction

Having the right frame of thinking is critical and there is a distinction between the strategies to make money with your business as there is with having money in general.

If you consider the online casino gambling as a way to live, then you sure will be hooked. Be sure not to spend a lot of bucks on betting than you may spend to lose. If you feel sorrow spending your bucks when it is lost, then you should not spend it to gamble.

Alcoholics often tell themselves a similar lie. “I’ll go out and have a good time and drink all I want and get it out of my system, then I’ll stop.” Then the drinker goes out and ties on a good one. But after the effects wear off, he or she is right back at it again. The same is true of the gambler who says he or she will stop after a big win or lucky streak. Even if he or she does manage to win, the gambling doesn’t stop, in fact, it usually gets worse. Obviously, the cure for a drinking problem isn’t more drinking and the cure for compulsive gambling isn’t more gambling.

Many people say that it’s quite easy to become addicted to gambling, especially with the ease and anonymity that online Internet gaming sites now offer. These days, you don’t even need to trek to the local bookies to make your bet. You can do it all from the comfort of your home and at a time to suite you, 24hours a day.

Basically, you have to remember that gambling is gambling. There is no guarantee that you will always win whenever you gamble. Whether it is online or offline, you will still experience losing. There may be theories on gambling, but you have to remember that even these theories will not claim to provide you with wins all the time. In fact, some theories even emphasize that you will experience losses.

Never play six consecutive lottery numbers. Six consecutive numbers haven’t been drawn in any state or international lotto game. Even five consecutive rarely occur.

Teach your kids about window shopping. Too quickly we jump on them “now don’t be looking at that, you have enough toys at home already”. Look at items they like with them, comment on the item, look at the back of the box, tell them it IS cool and you can understand how they would want it and maybe, just maybe, they might get it for their birthday. This window shopping and actually touching and looking closely at the item does the same thing as the writing it down. Window shopping is a part of most peoples lives, so teach your kids how to do it. How to look at something you like and still be able to walk away.

Re-read your five positive, life affirming words and the qualities that make you smile, feel safe and inspire you to keep moving, thinking about this being your relationship with money. Imagine these feelings and safety being about money and not your loved one.

Dispel the myths and self-sabotaging beliefs that you’ve had in the past about money. Go back to your childhood and look at the example that was set for you around money. Think about the TV shows you use to watch where being “broke” looked like fun. You know, Good Times, Sanford and OMI88 Son, Lavern and Shirley. Ask yourself if it’s possible that having money could be as fun as not having money was depicted via the media? How or how so?
